Missguided and Topshop wishlist

Quick post tonight, 1. because Geordie Shore is on (yes, I do watch it, don't judge ha!) 2. because I am participating in the #askfrankie/#askkirk hashtag and am determined to make them notice me & get a tweet back from Frankie Cocozza & Kirk Norcross and 3. because I have finally found something to blog about so I want to get it up and posted before my eyes shut and I retreat to my best friend: my bed.

I've managed to save up a little bit of money and was browsing the MissGuided website tonight, and I actually came across some really nice pieces! I've never bought anything off there before but judging by the things I came across today, I now have a reason to part with the money in my purse that evidently, is not saved in there for long. I made an account and created a small wishlist of the clothes that I liked, so I thought I'd share that with you :) I am in l o v e with the teal colour blouse, that's probably top of my list! Both of the leggings here and here, I really like, and I also love the lace insert top. The wedges kind of speak for themselves, beautiful. I also took a sneeky peek on the Topshop website and fell in love with the two blouses, the black and white one is just a bit different than the usual plain ones I wear and the second one is a gorgeous lilac colour, it's so pretty! I've also been looking for a denim shirt, they're really versatile and I've wanted one for a while! If anyone knows anywhere or seen the blouses/denim shirt, or any of the above anywhere at a cheaper price, then please please please let me know :)

You should go and check out both websites for the stock they've got in at the moment!

Week in pictures

If you follow me on Twitter then you'll know that I've had such a busy week with exams, revision and all that kinda stuff, so when Friday came around I was ready to chill in the biggest bubble bath e v e r with my chocolate face mask on (yes, chocolate!!) Just a few quick photos I've taken on Instagram this week, not the best quality! Hoping to get some more fashion/beauty blogposts up soon when I have time to plan them, fingers crossed tomorrow.

1. Galaxy chocolate by my bedside, says it all really. 2. Stole these jelly snakes off my sister, oops. 3. VO5 Miracle mist has been my life saviour, review perhaps? 4. My beloved make-up bag. 5. All I did when I got in from school was change into the biggest hoodie I could find. 6. My dad bought a 3D tv the other day, whole family casually sitting there together watching Coronation Street with these evidently cool glasses on. 7. Had to memorise 300 words for my german assessment, stress.ful. 8. Books I'm reading. 9. Sister has a One Direction calendar, (not me, I swear!) zayn is the best. *fangirl alert* 10. 3D glasses look so fashionable on me. 11. Temple Run is all I've been playing on recently, much like everyone else. Best game ever. 12. My favourite pj bottoms are these leopard print ones, so comfy and warm. 13. Noodles, mmm. 14. Love coming into my room and seeing this everyday, excuse to go shopping? I think so.

How's your week been? What are you doing this weekend?

My outfit

Jumper: Topshop
Leggings: Primark
Necklace: H&M
Lipstick: MAC Speed dial
Ring: Diva @ Topshop
Pandora bracelet
Black stone bracelet: Market

Just a quick outfit of the day today, I recently bought the H&M necklace and I love it, I think it's a really nice touch to add to a casual outfit like this one. I first saw it on llymlrs's blog and at £6.99 I wasn't going to miss out! You might remember me telling you about how I ordered a new MAC lipstick and it arrived in the post a few days ago, I am in love with it and think it's such a gorgeous colour. It's a lot brighter than Please Me which is another one I bought recently. The lipstick is called Speed dial and has a Cremesheen finish, which is a bit like Matte but with a tiny bit more moisture to it. Let me know what you think!

I have so much revision to do for next week but I just don't have any motivation to do it. So far, all I've done is watch 'Victoria's Secret Fashion Show', sleep, and eat. Just the usual really haha. After this I'm going to raid the fridge, sit at the table and make myself revise. I'll let you know how that goes! Also, I'm planning on taking a quick trip to town a bit later on to get a few things from Boots, that's if I can be bothered to even step out of the house.

Hope you're having a good weekend so far!

P.S You may have noticed a few changes on here recently, I've changed the header and made a badge for my blog, so if you're feeling extra nice go ahead and copy the html onto your blog! :)

New products

I've recently purchased some new products which I think deserve a mention on here, simply because I love them. My hair has been an utter mess recently, literally resembling a nest of straw. Okay, maybe not literally but you get what I mean.

I went on the lookout for a couple of products which I thought would transform my dry, brittle hair into something more glossy and healthier. I ended up going to the Boots counter and handing over my money to buy these two beauties.

Lee Stafford Argan Oil: I've always wanted to try argan oil so I thought buying it from the Lee Stafford range would be cheaper and more affordable than somewhere else. At £11.99 I was a little bit apprehensive at first especially as it's a small bottle but I went for it anyway and I am so glad that I did. You only need about 2 or 3 pumps depending on the thickness of your hair, etc. When you've got the oil in your hands rub them together and then just apply to your hair. You can use the oil on wet or dry hair, whichever you prefer. Argan oil has been going round the blog-o-sphere for a while now and I can't believe I've only just purchased this. It makes my hair smell gorgeous and immediately I can see the difference once I've applied it, so much more shinier! You can buy it from Boots here.

Herbal Essences Split End Protection Intensive Mask: As I walked through the doors into Boots, the first thing that I spotted was this product (it was love at first sight, seriously). In my head I wanted an affordable but effective hair mask which would work for my hair, and on offer at £2.03 this was perfect. There are 3 different types of masks that Herbal Essences do: Beautiful Ends, Hello Hydration and Dazzling Shine. I opted for the 'Beautiful Ends' one because I have a lot of breakage and my split ends needed to be saved! Working with the argan oil I bought, I thought they would pair up together perfectly. You put the product on wet hair, leave it on for 5 minutes and then wash off. The smell of it is amazing, in fact I think you should just go out and buy it simply for it's beautiful scent. I can really see the difference it makes to my hair and feels so much softer. After using it for a longer amount of time my hair should be on it's way to silky, smooth and supermodel ready (cringe sorry ha!). You can buy the masks from Boots here but be quick while they're on offer!

The next thing I bought is a skincare product. I've been searching for a good cleanser for a while now but I never know which one to get. I am ashamed to admit this but over the past few months I have only been using makeup wipes to take my makeup off without using an additional cleanser on top of that or anything. I've read that the skin repairs itself at night so a good cleanser is essential especially because I have quite oily skin. I didn't want anything too harsh or something that includes lots of things inside, I was just looking for something simple and gentle.

Johnson's Daily Essentials Oil Balancing Gel Wash: I use Johnson's wipes to clear my makeup off at night so thought that the gel wash would work nicely with them, too. I wipe my makeup off in the evening and then use this after. All you do is squirt some into your hands and then massage and lather around your face then wash off with warm water. As you can see from the picture above, it has little pink bits inside it which help to cleanse your face too. And they're pink obviously, so that's always a plus! The gel wash leaves my face feeling really fresh, clean and soft. This one is for combination skin but I think they do one for normal skin aswell. I actually bought this from Superdrug but can't seem to find the link for it, if you'd like to buy it then try searching the website again. Also, I think supermarkets like Tesco might sell it aswell, click here.

Have you ever tried any of these products? What are your opinions on them? Any other similar products you would recommend?

Wishlist

wishlist

I have been lusting after these gorgeous skinny jeans recently, I love the colour so much! I can see them going really nicely with a lot of things I have but at £40 from River Island they're just too expensive for me at the moment. (Need to get myself a job!) The wedges are also from River Island as is the handbag. The wedges are limited edition which means I'm probably not going to come into any money anytime soon so it's inevitable that I've got to part with these babies. My addiction to MAC lipsticks still exists and I'm loving Creme cup at the moment. Also, I really want to try Collection 2000's Creme Puff matte lip creams so possibly be expecting a review sometime soon! Desperately need a new handbag because I've had my brown one from Peacocks for a while now and I'm getting bored so this one from River Island would be perfect, I need it in my life! After playing on Mario Kart for most of my time in essex when staying with my friend, I've come to the conclusion that this is also something which needs to enter my (sad) life. And soon please!

MAC Lipstick: Please Me

Last week, I went shopping and headed straight for the MAC counter in Harvey Nichols. I spent ages in there swatching different shades until I looked like an actual zebra (has anyone ever done that?!...maybe just me) I finally settled on this one: Please Me. I'd already heard lots of reviews about this and seen videos on Youtube of people's collections. At first I was a little bit wary of choosing a Matte finish because they can be really drying. I find that with some lipbalm underneath to moisturize my lips, it isn't as drying as I thought it would be. It does last quite a few hours which is one of the benefits about Matte finishes because they just don't move. The colour is a really pretty pink, not too light or too dark and would suit probably almost any skintone. As you've probably noticed, I am loving pink lipsticks at the moment and this colour is definitely one of my favourites!

What are your thoughts on Please Me? Let me know what your favourite lipsticks are!

Recent Purchases

These are just a few of the things that I've bought in the past week which I thought I would share with you. Please excuse the quality of the first few pictures (Blogger's fault!). The first is a long blouse from River Island that I think is gorgeous. At £30.00 I wasn't sure whether I should buy it, but I did end up handing over my money and I'm still not sure whether it was a mistake! You can find it here. It is a really nice top and I can think of various things I can wear it with, such as my burgundy colour leggings, etc. I just think that now I've bought it, is there any point in returning it? Ah help me!

The second one is a leopard print top from Primark with a cute black collar on it, too. This was about £8 I think and is nice for everyday wear and would also look great with heels! I really wanted to take some outfit shots with these new items of clothing on but the lighting was really bad, my camera wouldn't stay up, and I had no willing photographers handy! Sorry!

The next is just a plain pink cami that I bought from Primark. I've already got a black one but I needed another one. I think they're nice essentials to have in your wardrobe. I also like the seamfree ones because they're a nicer fit, although just a little bit more expensive than the normal ones. I bought a new phone case for my iPhone 4 and this one was from Dorothy Perkins in the sale for only £5! It was kind of bought on a whim and I hadn't seen anything else that I liked in there so why not!

I bought 'the little blue tin' from Superdrug just because I'd run out of lipbalm and needed something to moisturize my lips. It was cheap aswell at just 99p.
Lastly, when I was on the lookout for a new cleanser I came across these face masks aswell. I actually bought 3 but I've already used one of them. The one I used was really refreshing and I could see that my blemishes had gone down after using it. I'm especially excited to use these two, 1. because it's chocolate! and 2. because the strawberry one will smell divine. Definitely buying more of these and at £1 each you can't really go wrong. I really want to try the peels!

What have you recently bought over the past few weeks? Anything new on your wishlist?

MAC Lipsticks

For the duration of the day today I've been sat at home, being lazy and doing absolutely nothing. Well, apart from reading up on reviews about lipsticks from MAC. Oh, and adding more to my wishlist in the process.
I recently bought Please Me last week and I now want to purchase some more! After reading countless reviews, I've finally broken my long list down to 4 lipsticks that are being added to my list of things to buy.
I'm just about to order one from the Mac website so I'm hoping to do a separate review on that one when it arrives. The following are just a few of the lipsticks that I am lusting after, sorry in advance for my terrible descriptions!

These are the four lipsticks which are at the top of my list and ones that I am hoping to invest in soon!

Chatterbox: Chatterbox is one of the first lipsticks on my list and this one is described as a bright red pink on the website. I absolutely love this one, it's a beautiful pink colour, very girly, and has an amplified creme finish. I personally don't think this one is too bright and would be perfect for both daytime and night. (Only just realised that rhymes, wannabe poet obvs...) I was torn between choosing this shade and the one I've just ordered, however I will probably be purchasing this one in the near future! When I was browsing reviews I came across one which was extremely helpful in seeing the actual colour clearly, check it out here.

Angel: This one is a really pretty light pink colour, not too harsh at all and great for daywear. Angel is a frost finish and is described by mac as being a soft pink. I completely agree, the colour is a much paler pink than a lot of mac's pink lipsticks and I think would be perfect for every skintone! Check out clearer photo's of Angel here.

Lovelorn: Lovelorn is described by mac as an emotive blue pink and is a gorgeous bright pink colour however the mac photo doesn't really do it justice! With my current love for pinks this should be perfect for me and anyone else with a love for them. Check out this review I came across here, and also other people's opinions on this lipstick here.

Pink Nouveau: Lastly, this lipstick has a satin finish and is again a lovely bright colour, although a lot brighter than lovelorn. It's vibrant and much like a barbie pink colour. Would look fab with any skin colour and I think everyone needs a bright pink in their makeup collection! Click here to have an idea of what pink nouveau looks like.

So that's it, the top lipsticks that I am loving at the moment and hope to buy soon! All in all, I believe I've had a very productive day. Which MAC lipsticks do you have in your collection? Any other lipsticks you would recommend?

P.S I recently made a Twitter account for this blog separately which is @dreamsndresses and you can also get to it by clicking here. Go and request to follow to be updated on what I'm tweeting!
P.P.S Reviews coming soon!

Prom 2012

This year I'm leaving school to go to college and the school that I go to always have a prom for school leavers, and I guess it's to kind of celebrate the ending of school (I know that's what I'll be celebrating anyway!) All the girls get dressed up and the boys put on their suits. The most exciting thing for me is, drumroll please...finding my perfect dress! Obviously! So, I've started my search early and over the past couple of months, I've been looking online in preparation to find the prom dress that I want. Personally, I don't particularly want to turn up wearing the exact same dress as someone else (nightmare!), so I've been on the hunt for something that is original or have been searching for websites that not many people will know about.

I came across a few of the above dresses which I think are beautiful. Except I've got to admit, the hardest most frustrating part of finding a dress is the amount of choices there are and making important life-changing decisions. Yes, I did say life-changing. I can already tell that I'm going to find it almost impossible to pick just one out. I want them all!

I still have quite a lot of time left to carry on my search, so when I've found my dress I will be sure to let you all know! Which dress is your favourite from the above?

One question I have for you though is would you show everyone your dress before prom, such as posting it online for your friends to see, so that people would be able to see that YOU are wearing that dress so no-one else would buy it, or would this cause people to copy? Or maybe you'd keep it to yourself and not post a picture online, in the hope that no-one else is going to wear the same dress? Which one would you do?!

Also, if you know of any good websites that sell prom dresses then please link them below, thank-you!

P.S. I am really happy with the advice that some of you gave me on my blogpost before, titled 'Fashion careerpath'. A lot of what you said was really helpful to me! If any of you want to read it then click here, and if you have any advice I'd still love to know what you think :)

Fashion Careerpath

At this time in my life, I'm actually finding it hard to make some quite important decisions based on my future. I'm a 16 year old girl who has a big love for fashion and as cliche as that sounds, it's true. I've always been focused on a career pathway into the fashion industry and in all honesty is a massive dream of mine. It's not like maybe other girls who say one day, "Oh, I want to be a fashion designer!". I know all too well that it's not that easy, trust me, the amount of times I have been told that the fashion industry is extremely hard to break into. And I know that, I get that. But I think that if you want something bad enough and strive to achieve your goals, then someday you will get there!

In September this year, I'll be going to college and I have a few ideas of what I would like to study, except I'm still not entirely sure. It's between taking a Vocational course which would be Fashion and Clothing and then potentially one a-level beside that, or taking 3 a-levels, non fashion related, without doing a vocational subject. The vocational fashion and clothing course sounds really interesting with lots of opportunities, but the only reason why I'm doubtful of choosing this straight away is because I'm still not sure on what I want to do in the future and what career path I want to take. I don't particularly want to be a massive designer name in the industry, I mean, obviously that would be amazing ha! But I want to think about realistic goals, maybe eventually gaining a job in a magazine, writing or even starting out my own business. Another thing I've been thinking about is stability and how long would I have a job in fashion for, compared to maybe a teacher.

I've recently been looking into lcf - London college of fashion, as a potential university in a few years to come after college. Not entirely sure what I would like to specialise in yet, but maybe things will come into perspective later on.

My main issue at the moment is deciding on what I would need to take for whatever pathway I want to go into and ultimately deciding on a job that I want to work towards. I've been thinking what other more realistic jobs I would like instead of going into fashion, but honestly, there isn't anything else I'm really as passionate about. Being a primary school teacher has been something I've been looking at, but I always just get drawn back to the fashion side of things. Does this say something?!

Does anyone have any help/advice that might help me in deciding on college/university/my future or what career path to go down? Would be really appreciated! :)

 Canvas from Morrisons(!)

Nail varnishes from Boots. top left - clear, bottom left - pink amazon, right - coral reef

 Shorts from New Look

 Top from Topshop

First of all I want to say Happy New Year to you all, and hope you all had a great Christmas and received lots of nice presents! I was on holiday in the canary islands for christmas which was actually really good and I really enjoyed it. It was different from christmas here in England...I had my christmas dinner by the beach! Be jealous.

Todays post is just going to be a quick christmas one showing you a few things which I received or chose for people to buy me. My main present was a compact digital camera which I love! I asked for a compact because it gets quite annoying carrying round my slr sometimes when I want to use it, so I figured that I can take a smaller camera round in my bag with me, and keep my slr for when I'm doing more professional/photography things. I mainly got clothes, and chose a few nail varnishes too. I absolutely l.o.v.e the canvas I got given too - 'Keep calm and go shopping' Pretty much defines my whole life!

Last couple of photos are just a few outfits that I put together and wore on holiday, for daytime and night. The last one is what I wore to go out on new year's eve, not too dressy or too casual. The top is from Primark which I've featured on a previous post, click here to see it. Then I just wore leggings and my new black wedges.

How was your christmas and new year? What did you get? Link me to your christmas posts on what you received!
